2024 Pensions Increase: How Much Will Romanian Pensions Rise and When?

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Tuesday how much pensions will increase and when Romanians can enjoy higher incomes.

“Regarding the pension law, we entered a more alert procedure, because it is not the first time that I announce, we would like to decouple. It is in the payment request number 4, so it was not a priority at the moment, but I would like it to be implemented as early as next year. (…)

Even if we have the law ready on January 1 and it is promulgated, it cannot be applied, because there is a whole system to implement. Some software simulations are already being done in the ministry.

We entered a dynamic and I believe that we have the capacity for a Romanian government to be efficient.(…)

It is normal that we sent a draft to the Commission, it is normal to receive feedback from the Commission. From here we will start the negotiations again, according to Antena 3.
