This Thursday, the São Paulo Federation defined the groups for the 2024 edition of the Paulistão Série A1 – the state’s elite. In an event held at the Ibirapuera Auditorium, the FPF and the directors of the 16 participating clubs drew the four seedings for the group stage of the competition.
Current champions, Palmeiras are the top seed in Group B. The other three shirts with the most tradition in São Paulo football – Corinthians, Santos and São Paulo – lead the other groups.

For the next season, two teams will once again be part of the state elite: Ponte Preta and Novorizontino, who were in Série A2 this year and gained access.
Group A: Santos, Ituano, Santo André and Portuguesa Group B: Palmeiras, Água Santa, Guarani and Ponte PretaGroup C: Corinthians, Red Bull Bragantino, Mirassol and Inter de LimeiraGroup D: São Paulo, São Bernardo, Botafogo-SP and Novorizontino

Palmeiras is the current state champion. The Verdão team won this season’s title with a 4-0 victory over Água Santa, after losing the first game 2-1. Remember the decision below:

Paulistão 2024 starts on January 21st and ends on April 7th. The championship will maintain the competition scheme used in previous years.
The 16 participating clubs are divided into four groups with four teams each. In the first phase, played over 12 rounds, the teams only face opponents from the other brackets.
Example: Palmeiras plays with all teams from Groups A, C and D, but does not face Água Santa, Guarani and Ponte Preta in the initial phase.
The quarter-final clash will be a single game between the top two in each group. In the semi, also in a single match, the clashes will be defined according to the campaign of the classified clubs. The finals will be round-trip duels, and the two teams with the worst campaign will be relegated to Series A2 in 2025.
