Waiting Indonesia vs Guinea in the playoffs Olympic Games 2024 kept behind closed doors. The match is scheduled to take place in Clairefontaine, Paris, France, on Thursday (9/5).
This game also underwent a schedule change. The match first started at 12.00 local time. However, it was then moved an hour to 13.00 local time or 20.00 WIB.
“It was scheduled for 12.00 GMT. The starting schedule for the game is now at 13.00 GMT at CNF Clairefontaine behind closed doors,” wrote the official Instagram account of the Guinea Football Federation.
Indonesia advanced to the playoffs as it finished as the fourth team in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup.
This match will only happen once. As a result, Indonesia has only one chance to win the last ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The winner of this playoff later joins Group A in the preliminary round for men’s football at the 2024 Olympics. France, then the United States and New Zealand are in that group already.
Guinea is no ordinary opponent for the Indonesian U-23 National Team. Because most of their players work in Europe.
However, Guinea U-23 face their own challenges as they last competed in a test match against the United States on 22 April 2024. The team that produced Kaba Diawara lost 0-3 against the USA.
This was Guinea U-23’s only match so far. Before that they were involved in the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations which took place last July.
Guinea was the team that finished fourth in the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations They lost to Mali in the third place match on penalties.
