2024 NFL Draft: New York Giants’ Draft Picks and Potential Targets

EAST RUTHERFORD – The price of an upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles? One spot in the 2024 NFL Draft.

That’s the deal for the New York Giants, who will still pick in the Top 10 and the question of whether general manager Joe Schoen will target a new franchise quarterback remains on the table. There’s no doubt that might take some work to do so.

With the regular season now in the rear view following Sunday’s 27-10 triumph over the Eagles, all eyes are set on the 2024 NFL Draft taking place from Apr. 25-27 in Detroit, Michigan.

Here’s where the Giants will be selecting in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft:

What draft spot do the Giants own in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft?

The Giants slide back one slot into sixth thanks to the Chargers’ loss to the Chiefs. In a twist of fate, it’s the same slot where former general manager Dave Gettleman decided to select Daniel Jones in 2019.

Could Schoen opt to go quarterback as well? Caleb Williams of USC, Drake Maye of North Carolina and Jayden Daniels of LSU are all projected as potential Top 5 picks. What the Bears do with the No. 1 overall spot, either sticking with Justin Fields or going for a prospect at the position, will be a draft changer right from jump?

New England and Washington are 2-3, so the expectation is that both of those teams will go quarterback as well. Could the Giants trade up to No. 1 if they still eye Williams or Maye? Schoen said during last year’s draft, “Scared money don’t make money,” and he has pulled off deals up and down the last two years.

The Giants could also go for one of the offensive tackles, Joe Alt of Notre Dame and Olu Fashanu of Penn State. Or they could target Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State, considered the top receiver, if a trade presents itself. LSU receiver Malik Nabors is also a game-changer and would be the No. 1 for which the Giants have been searching since Odell Beckham Jr. was dealt to Cleveland.

How many picks do the Giants have in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Big Blue currently has seven picks for this year’s draft. Here’s where those selections are heading into the offseason:

First round: No. 6

Second round: No. 39

Second round: No. 47 (from Seattle in Leonard Williams trade)

Third round: No. 70

Fourth round: No. 107

Fifth round: No. 139

Sixth round: No. 184
