This exhibition of the Fashion Institute of Technology will present about 250 collections and classic fashion masterpieces of the Institute of Fashion Technology in a new form that are rarely displayed in public. The exhibits include Phillip Lim、Stella McCartney、Connor Ives、Elsa Schiaparelli、Yves Saint Laurent、Christian Dior and Hubert de GivenchyThe design takes the audience through 400 years of fashion history.
Max Hollein, Marina Kellen French Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, said the exhibition will challenge the imagination of everyone on the team while inviting everyone to experience the multi-sensory aspects, history and beauty of clothing.
The exhibition will focus on an exquisite collection of 50 pieces of historical value, whose costumes are too delicate, ancient, and fragile to be worn, including a silk ball gown made by Charles Frederick Worth in 1877 and a 17th-century corset. “This is the so-called ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in the theme.” Chief Curator Andrew Bolton explained, and further explained that this exhibition will be classified according to the three major themes of “Earth, Ocean, and Sky” to trace the historical transformation of natural materials used by humans in designing clothing.
