[앵커] It’s the first car anyone considers when looking to buy a family car. A new model of Carnival is released.
First, we looked at the Carnival. Reporter Kim Hong-mo looked at the 2024 model of the Carnival, which has become the standard for family cars, to the extent of saying, “What are the good and bad aspects of other models” compared to the Carnival?
[기자] Kia launched the new Carnival three years after the launch of the 4th generation in 2020.
The New Carnival is a model to improve marketability, expanding the lineup by adding a hybrid electric model to the existing two powertrains, gasoline and diesel. Reflecting sales performance and customer trends, it will only be operated in two models, a 7-seater and a 9-seater.
In particular, Gravity Trim, a design-specific trim, has been newly applied.
The Gravity trim has projection LED headlamps and side steps as standard features, and the exclusive black radiator grill and wheels show off a strong masculine look.

We hope that the new Gravity model will further strengthen Carnival’s presence as Korea’s unrivaled family minivan.
[기자] To further increase the comfort of the second-row seats, the recline function was moved to the armrest, and a 220V charging port was provided along with a C-type cable connector so that everyday household appliances can be used immediately.
The rectangular screen, which consists of the instrument panel and center fascia display, is curved towards the driver, and has been designed with ample space for mobile phones and simple accessories.
[인터뷰] Cho Seon-hee / Kia Domestic Product Team 1 Responsible Manager: In this model with improved marketability, unlike existing cars that focused on improving the satisfaction of rear-seat passengers, a lot of effort was made to improve the driver’s driving convenience.
Features such as highway driving assistance 2, 11-inch large screen head-up display, and digital key 2 are representative features.
[기자] The gasoline and diesel models of the new Carnival will be delivered to customers in mid-November, but the hybrid model will be shipped sequentially as certification from major ministries is completed.
