2024 J League Preseason Match Incident: Gamba Osaka Stadium Graffiti Investigation

The following incident was confirmed during the 2024 J League preseason match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima (Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima) held on Saturday, February 10th.

■Event
When cleaning the stadium after the game, graffiti with permanent marker was found in four stalls in the restrooms in the visitor-only area on the second floor.

Our club deeply regrets that the facility was damaged during the preseason match held on Saturday, February 10th.
This case is a criminal act equivalent to criminal damage to property. This kind of behavior is an insult to Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, those involved in the stadium construction, and everyone who supports Gamba Osaka.
We are currently conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrator, and our club is making every effort to identify the perpetrator.

Gamba Osaka will strive to operate matches with the aim of being a “safe and comfortable stadium,” regardless of whether they are home or away. In addition to cheering in the spirit of fair play, we will continue to ensure that fans and supporters are thoroughly aware of and comply with the etiquette and rules for watching matches, so that they can watch matches based on the match management regulations.
We ask all fans and supporters to fully understand that their actions inside and outside the stadium have a significant impact not only on the clubs involved, but on the J.League as a whole.
