Indonesian National team and Afghanistan finished the match with a draw at 2024 Futsal Asian Cup Qualification. The following is the 2024 Asian Futsal Cup Qualification standings after Indonesia vs Afghanistan.
Indonesia, which previously led the standings after a 12-0 win over Macau, faced quite troublesome resistance from Afghanistan.
The Red and White squad was behind 0-2 in the first three minutes. Having scored a goal in the seventh minute, Indonesia conceded three more goals in the first half. A goal from Rio Pangestu made Indonesia cut the distance again to 2-5.
Afghanistan started the second half with a goal which Indonesia then responded with three goals. In a state of enthusiasm because they could catch the score to 5-6, Indonesia conceded again before scoring two goals which made the final score 7-7.
From another match in which Group B contestants participated, Saudi Arabia won 9-0 over Macau. Previously, Saudi Arabia lost 2-3 to Afghanistan.
With the addition of one point, Indonesia and Afghanistan have a total of four points. Indonesia is at the top of the standings because of the superior goal difference over Afghanistan.
Samuel Eko and friends scored 19 goals and conceded seven times. Meanwhile, Afghanistan broke through the opponent’s goal 10 times and conceded nine goals.
Saudi Arabia has opened up opportunities again after a big win over Macau and is now in third place with three points.
Meanwhile, Macau, which lost twice, became caretaker. Apart from not having points, Macau also couldn’t find the back of the opponent’s goal in two matches and conceded 21 times.
The next match which will take place on Wednesday (11/10) will bring together Afghanistan and Macau as well as Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
Apart from Macau, which no longer has a chance of advancing to the 2024 Asian Futsal Cup finals, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia will try to score the best results in the last match.
Indonesia and Afghanistan only need a draw to ensure tickets to Thailand, which will host the Asian Futsal Cup next year. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is required to win to ensure a place in the 2024 Futsal Asian Cup.
Only countries ranked first and second in Group B can advance to the 2024 Asian Futsal Cup finals.
