On the evening of December 30, the 2024 Chongqing New Year Concert, sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission, was held at the Chongqing Grand Theater. This New Year’s concert performed Liszt’s “Piano Concerto No. 1 in E flat major” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9 in D minor”. It was conducted by the internationally renowned conductor Shao En and featured piano soloist An Tianxu from the Chongqing Symphony Orchestra. More than 200 performers, singers, and literary and artistic workers from the Troupe, Chongqing Opera House Chorus, and Chongqing Normal University Chorus participated in the performance.
At about 19:30, accompanied by majestic music like a bugle ensemble, the smart, graceful and impassioned melody of the “Piano Concerto No. 1 in E flat major” poured out. Various musical instruments cooperated tacitly in the hands of the performers. The band played the first theme powerfully, and the piano took over with gorgeous phrases, fully demonstrating the rippling vitality of this piece of music, and conveying optimism and cheerful emotions that infected the audience. .
