2nd and 3rd leagues start on August 2nd
Almost six weeks after the European Championship final in Berlin, the Bundesliga will start its next season next summer. The DFL announced the framework calendar for the 2024/25 season on Friday. The weekend from August 23rd to 25th is recorded as the first matchday of the Bundesliga.
The first round of the DFB Cup (August 16th to 19th) and the Supercup between champions and cup winners (August 17th) were once again scheduled for the same weekend – which had already caused displeasure among German fans this season and last.
