Four matches in Group C and Group D 2023 U-17 World Cup was played on Tuesday (14/11). Check out the complete results here.
In Group C, Brazil handed New Caledonia another heavy defeat after being crushed by England 0-10. Selecao junior scored a goal with a score of 9-0 in the match at JIS Stadium, Jakarta, afternoon WIB.
Brazil’s landslide victory was determined by a Kaua Elias hat-trick and a pair of Rayan goals (one penalty). The other four Brazilian goals were scored respectively by Estavao Willian, Luighi, Vitor Reis and Joao Souza.
In the other match, England had to work harder to beat Iran with a score of 2-1 in the match at 19.00 WIB. Joel Ndala became the hero of the Three Young Lions after scoring a goal in the final minute of the game.
Iran opened the scoring first through Abolfazl Zamani in the first half. Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny leveled the score for England after the break, before Ndala’s goal sealed the win.
With this result, England topped Group C after collecting six points from two matches. Brazil is in second place with three points, above Iran which has a similar figure. New Caledonia is bottom with no numbers.
In Group D, Senegal and Argentina both earned full points. Senegal beat Poland 4-1 at the Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, in a match that started yesterday afternoon WIB (14/11). Idrissa Gueye inspired Senegal’s victory after scoring a hat-trick, while another goal came from Dominik Szala’s own goal. Poland’s only goal in return came from Marcel Regula.
Meanwhile in the second match, Argentina was too strong for Japan after winning 3-1 in the match that night. Winning goals Albiceleste printed by Claudio Echeverri, Valentino Acuna, and Agustin Roberto. Rento Takaoka is the only Japanese player who can score a goal.
Due to this result, Senegal has the right to top the Group D standings with six points. Argentina is in second place with three points, above Japan which has a similar collection of points due to goal productivity rules. Poland is bottom with no points.
