Group phase 2023 U-17 World Cup it’s finished. One of the facts that emerged was that only in Group A, Indonesia’s group, could all teams score points.
The series of matches in the knockout phase of the 2023 U-17 World Cup are ready to be played on Monday (20/11) with matches in the round of 16.
Six teams qualified for the knockout phase as winners of their respective groups, with six teams finishing runners-up. The remaining four spots are filled by teams with the third best position.
Indonesia, which is the host 2023 U-17 World Cup, had to be a spectator for the remainder of the tournament after the U-17 National Team stopped in the group phase. The Indonesian U-17 national team finished third in Group A.
Among the other teams in third place, Indonesia was unable to compete with Iran, Japan, Uzbekistan and Venezuela. There was also Burkina Faso as another team that was eliminated after finishing third.
The Indonesian national team, which made its debut at the U-17 World Cup, ended its work in this event with 2 points from two draws against Ecuador and Panama. In the final match, the U-17 National Team was defeated by Morocco 1-3.
From this group, Morocco (6 points) qualified as group winner accompanied by Ecuador (5 points) who became runner-up. Indonesia and Panama, who both got 2 points, finished third and fourth.
Looking at the results throughout the group phase 2023 U-17 World CupGroup A also has one big difference compared to the others — and it could be an indication of the fierce competition in Group A. Only in Group A were the four teams able to get points from the three matches played.
Meanwhile, the other five groups in the 2023 U-17 World Cup had teams that finished without points. The details are Canada in Group B, New Caledonia in Group C, Poland in Group D, South Korea in Group E, and New Zealand in Group F.
