2023 “Tatort” Viewership Reaches All-Time Low: Impact of Non-Linear TV Viewing

It’s complaining at a high level, but the “crime scene” has once again lost its reach as 2023 draws to a close. According to the first figures now announced by ARD, the average reach of the first “Tatort” broadcasts was around 8.5 million viewers, the lowest value since 2011. Compared to 2022, this corresponds to a minus of around 440,000 viewers; in 2021 the average “ Tatort” reached 9.2 million viewers. A development that is also due to the fact that non-linear television is playing an increasingly important role in viewing habits.
