If you look at the new entries in the Swiss commercial register, 2023 was not a particularly good year for the Central Switzerland region compared to the previous year. But that’s not the whole truth.

51,637 companies were founded across Switzerland last year. This corresponds to growth of 3.2 percent compared to the previous year in 2022, as the Institute for Young Companies (IFJ) calculates in an analysis. This means that never before have so many companies been founded in Switzerland as in 2023.
