This Sunday, October 8, the standard bearers celebrated their patron, Saint Denis. For this 2023 edition, they paraded in Saint-Avold. Because the tradition, anchored in the territory for 22 years, is mainly played out in Moselle-Est. Each year, the ceremony changes location. The opportunity for the flag bearers to present their crystal trophy to the mayor of the city or village which welcomes them, and who keeps it for the following twelve months. A symbol of this memory which is passed down from generation to generation. A highlight for these volunteers, who often work in the shadows during the various commemorative ceremonies in which they participate.
