2023 General Assembly of Pétanque Toulonnaise: Major Announcement by Mayor Guillaume Margelidon

The 2023 General Assembly of “Pétanque Toulonnaise” chaired by Daniel Jacob was held in the multipurpose room on rue des écoles in the presence of a great audience, including Guillaume Margelidon, Mayor, and representatives of Toulonnaise associations.

This general meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of the club members who died in the year 2023.

The president expressed the club’s gratitude to the municipality for the subsidy as well as to all the partners for the significant assistance they provide.

The activity report from the secretary, Jean Claude Rousseau, took stock of the year’s sports. The A team finished fifth in their division 1 championship.

Team B finished fifth in the 4th division and team C fourth in the same division.

The C team also qualified for the semi-finals of the Committee C cup. They unfortunately finished fourth.

The treasurer, Charles Desplaignes presented the financial report which had been validated by the auditors. The activity and cash flow reports were adopted unanimously.

Like a vast agricultural shed

Guillaume Margelidon brought a major surprise to the meeting: he announced a decision taken the evening before this sports meeting by the municipal council: the covering of the vast area intended for pétanque games, in the style of the hangars agricultural with photovoltaic panels for roofing.

The mayor finally expressed his regrets at not being able to provide this same comfort for the tennis court whose facilities are too close to the railway catenaries.

The price of the license remains at €37 for 2024, despite various administrative increases.

Finally, late licensees are asked to return their license application with payment as quickly as possible.
