The opening ceremony of the 2023 FIBA 3×3 Macau Masters was held on the South Outdoor Lawn of the Wynn Palace in Macau, China on the 8th. On the first day, among the three mainland Chinese teams participating in the competition, only the Beijing team won both games and broke into the quarter-finals on the 9th. The Futian team and Wuxi team lost both games in the group stage and were eliminated.
The “2023 FIBA 3×3 Macau Masters” is sponsored by the Sports Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government and Macau Star Entertainment Production Co., Ltd., co-organized by the China Macau Basketball Association and Absolute Three on Three Co., Ltd., and title-sponsored by Wynn Resorts (Macau) Co., Ltd. The competition” will be held on the outdoor lawn of the south gate of Wynn Palace in Macau for two consecutive days starting from the 8th. The organizer will hold the opening ceremony on the afternoon of the 8th.
Guests attending the opening ceremony included Liu Chuyuan, Deputy Director of the Sports Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Zhiling, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Resorts (Macau) Co., Ltd., Lao Jielong, Chief Executive Officer of Macau Star Entertainment Production Co., Ltd., Chairman of FIBA3x3 Manager Alex Sanchez, Hu Songhui, chairman of the Macau Basketball Association of China, and so on. The organizer expects to deepen international sports cultural exchanges through the high-level Masters, so that audiences from all over the world can feel the lively atmosphere of sports events and experience the rich and colorful sports elements of Macau, so as to further promote the development of Macau’s sports industry.
There are 14 participating teams in the 2023 FIBA 3×3 Macau Masters. The first day of the event completed the qualifying round and group round robin. Three teams from Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy, Pasig TNT and Doha Expo stood out in the first qualifying round, and then a total of 12 teams competed in the second round of the group round robin.
