On Tuesday, June 27, students in the general series at the college worked on their history-geography and civic education patent. This last discipline proposed to study the municipal youth council of Reims (Marne) and to answer a few questions on its subject.
The civic engagement of young people is the theme of the third exercise of the 2023 certificate in history-geography and civic education (in general series). And among the documents presented, an extract from the website of the city of Reims (Marne) presenting its municipal youth council.
The students worked on these three disciplines on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. The moral and civic education exercise (new name for civic education since 2015) did not only include the Internet extract relating to the municipal council of young people in Reims.
There was also a poster from the town hall of Margencel (Haute-Savoie) inviting young people to present themselves or vote for their municipal youth council. A total of four questions, scored out of ten points, were asked about these two documents.
The first two questions relate to the conditions for joining the Reims council and the themes it may have to deal with (for example the environment or sports). As a reminder, every college student living in Reims can join him after completing an application. The last question proposed to imagine a small political speech to be elected within these councils (see the document below which takes up the civic education exercise).
Solicited by France 3 Champagne-Ardenne, the town hall of Reims, which was not aware, promised a small reaction for the occasion. More information to come…
