Hassan Al-Haydos, captain of the Qatar national football team, along with stars from other national teams, sent motivational messages to the fans less than a month before the start of the 2023 Asian Nations Championship in Qatar.
The Asian Football Confederation posted a video clip on its Instagram account entitled, “Are you ready?” It features some players from the national teams of Qatar, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Iran, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
In their brief words, most of the stars asked the fans of their countries’ teams to come to support and encourage them in the competitions of the 18th edition of the most important and largest tournament on the continent.
Hassan Al-Haydos (33 years old), a Qatari Al-Sadd player, said: “Greetings to our Al-Anabi fans… we are excited about the 2023 Asian Cup Qatar.”
On the other hand, Ali Adnan (29 years old), the Iraqi national team star, hoped for encouragement from his country’s fans, which is the same thing that Yazan Al-Naimat, the Jordanian national team player, requested, saying, “I ask the fans to support and attend.”
In turn, Syrian Omar Khribin appealed to his country’s fans by saying, “Our dear fans, we are waiting for you..”
24 teams will participate in the Asian Nations Championship, which will be held from January 12 to February 10 next year.
The 6 group matches were distributed across 9 stadiums, including 7 that hosted the 2022 World Cup matches in Qatar.
10 Arab teams succeeded in qualifying for the final qualifiers for the 2023 Asian Cup.
The groups are:
- The first group: Qatar, China, Tajikistan and Lebanon.
- the second group: Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria and India.
- Third group: Iran, the Emirates, Hong Kong and Palestine.
- Fourth group: Japan, Indonesia, Iraq and Vietnam.
- Fifth group: South Korea, Malaysia, Jordan and Bahrain.
- Sixth group: Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan and Oman.
The first from each group and its runner-up qualify for the next round, in addition to 4 teams that achieved the best results among the third-place finishers in the six groups.
