2023 Admiral Bundesliga Annual Table and Winners: Salzburg Dominates, Lustenau Struggles

The 2023 football year in the Admiral Bundesliga is over. With SV Ried, the local upper house had to say goodbye to a team heading towards the second division. FC Blau-Weiß Linz, on the other hand, has taken the opposite approach.

LAOLA1 has evaluated the annual table of the domestic league. Of course, it should be mentioned that statistical inaccuracies must be taken into account. The relegated team (Ried) and the promoted team (Blau-Weiß Linz) find themselves at the bottom of the table due, among other things, to the fewer games played.

In addition, the teams Red Bull Salzburg, Sturm Graz, LASK, Rapid, Austria Vienna and Austria Klagenfurt had supposedly more difficult opponents in the spring championship playoff.

Salzburg without an away defeat in 2023

Not surprisingly, the series champions from Salzburg lead the annual table in the domestic league. The Mozartstadt team walked to the championship title under former head coach Matthias Jaissle in the spring without a single defeat in the domestic league. Under neo-coach Struber, they lead the table two points ahead of Sturm in the fall.

In the new season, the people of Mozartstadt were less happy about visitors from Linz. They suffered their only two Bundesliga defeats of the calendar year against Blau-Weiß-Linz and LASK (0-1 each). The champions remained undefeated away from home. The “Bulls” stand out both offensively and defensively with a goal difference of 68:23.

SK Sturm is listed as the first pursuer. The “Schwoazn” were at least partially able to keep up with Salzburg in the spring. Two points are missing in the current season. With four draws, the Graz team recorded the fewest point divisions in the league (Salzburg has comparatively 8), but in contrast to the “Bulls” they had to leave the field as losers more often (7 times).

Lustenau with a desolate autumn

LASK, Wiener Austria and Altach can call themselves the kings of the draw. With eleven draws in every third game, they emerged neither as winners nor as losers.

Austria Lustenau has the worst statistics in terms of goals conceded, with 66 goals, two per game. This mainly has to do with a disastrous autumn. While the Vorarlbergers finished the spring as second in the qualifying group, they presented themselves with defensive holes in the new season.

There were 40 goals in 17 games. The fall was also a fiasco in terms of results. With three draws, the Lustenauers only got three of the 28 points in the annual table. That corresponds to 10.7 percent of the annual yield, even with one more game in the fall.

Note: Bundesliga European Cup playoff games were not taken into account.

This is the annual table for 2023:
