2023/2024 Season: Girondins of Bordeaux vs. GOAL FC and Transfer Updates

THE Girondins of Bordeaux returned to their 2023/2024 season after playing several friendly matches against Pau
FC
(1-1), Trelissac (2-0) and finally
Auxerre (2-1). The opponent chosen for this fourth test promises to be “less complicated since it is the club of GOAL FC just promoted to the league
National.

For the story, this club is quite recent under this name since it bears the name of
GOAL FC (Grand Ouest Association Lyonnaise Football Club) since 2020. You may have known it before as Beaujolais Monts d’Or (2000-2005) then
Monts d’Or Azergues Football (2005-2017) and finally
Monts d’Or Anse Foot (2017-2020). It is a merger between three clubs in the region.

Last season, the club finished first in the group of National 2 which included among others Bergerac Perigord, Trelissac, Angouleme or Herbaria. Regarding the transfer window, the club signed nine players including
Adrien Julloux (Concarneau L2) and others passed through professional training centres. In the direction of departures eight players left the club at the end of last season.
