The second 2023-2024 scholarship application campaign will soon begin in New York. Low-income French families recently settled in the constituency or those whose financial situation has suddenly changed since the end of the first stock market campaign on February 28, can therefore prepare their file. The French consulate in New York will accept them from Monday July 3 – 2 weeks earlier than last year.
Only children who meet the following criteria are eligible for a scholarship:
be of French nationality be at least three years old during the calendar year of the start of the school year not be more than one year behind in primary school and more than two years behind in secondary school live with at least one one of the parents in the consular district of New York be registered in the world register of French nationals living outside France, just like the person applying for the scholarships (father or mother) be registered or in the process of registration in an approved establishment by the AEFE. Only the French courses of these establishments are eligible and not the international IB courses The family must no longer receive family benefits from the CAF (a deregistration certificate is required for families whose children have resided in France) under public law (including contractual employees) posted abroad are not eligible for the scheme.
To submit your file to the consulate, you must make an appointment with social service here. Only one appointment slot per family, only the presence of one of the two parents is necessary. The deadline for submitting applications is fixed at friday september 15 included. The scholarship consular council will meet at the beginning of November.
