Paul Pogba’s last appearance with France dates back to the friendly which ended in a 5-0 win over South Africa last March.

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is absent from the French squad for the 2022 World Cup title defense campaign in Qatar, as he needs more time to recover from knee surgery.

Pogba, 29, hasn’t played a match for Juventus this season since returning to Italy from Manchester United in the summer.

Pogba suffered a knee injury last July and initially decided not to undergo surgery in an effort to catch up with the World Cup.

France will play their first World Cup match against Australia on 22 November.
