The four teams from Group B completed their first match in World Cup 2022. English while perched in the first tier above Wales.
Two matches were played in Group B on Monday (21/11/2022) local time. In the first match England easily crushed Iran with a score of 6-2.
Bukayo Saka contributed two goals to Tiga Singa, while a further four goals were scored by four different players, namely Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish. While back by two goals Iran coming from Mehdi Taremi (a penalty).
Then the second match of Group B played a match between United States of America (United States) vs Wales. The two teams tied with a final score of 1-1.
United States of America more aggressive and dominant, but has struggled to create clear opportunities. On the other hand Wales bring defensive tactics by relying on counterattacks.
Timothy Weah managed to put the United States ahead of Wales thanks to his goal in the first round. The USA lead lasted for most of the match before the referee awarded Wales a penalty after a foul on Gareth Bale.
Bale advanced as the executor then fired a left footed shot into the top corner of the United States goal. Goalkeeper Matthew Turner had correctly guessed the direction of Bale’s shot, but the flow was too fast so it was impossible to stop him.
With the result of this first day, England are entitled to occupy the first place in the table of Group B after collecting three points. Wales are in second place by a point ahead of the United States who have a similar takeover. Iran must be at the bottom of the list with no points.
On matchday two of this weekend, England take on the United States on Saturday (26/11) at 02:00 WIB, with Wales v Iran taking place on Friday (25/11) at 17:00 WIB.
