Spotify constantly collects data about how you use and listen to music in the app. Thanks to the popular Stats for Spotify website, you can easily see what all this data looks like. This is something Spotify is already doing very well with Spotify Wrapped. Every December, Spotify Wrapped examines users’ streaming data, finds the most interesting tidbits and turns them into a fun, interactive experience.
But Wrapped isn’t the only way to see what your Spotify listening experience looks like. There are also third-party websites that offer their own insight into your Spotify profile. Obscurify, for example, highlights users’ least known artists and tracks. It also features your favorite genres, top artists of all time, and more. If you don’t want to wait around for Spotify Wrapped every year, Obscurify is a fun way to get a quick overview of your tastes/likes.
Another site that does this is ‘Statistics for Spotify.’ Stats for Spotify does exactly what the name suggests. Once users link their Spotify account to the site, Stats for Spotify shows a range of stats for your Spotify account – including your most played tracks, favorite artists, how your music tastes change over time, and more. It’s free, easy to use, and takes seconds to set up.
To get started, all you need to do is visit statsforspotify.com on a phone, tablet, or computer. Click/tap the green “Sign in with Spotify” button at the top of the screen, enter your Spotify credentials if you’re not already logged in, and click the green “Agree” button at the bottom of the screen. This allows Stats for Spotify to display your Spotify account information, view your Spotify activity, and perform certain actions on your behalf (such as creating playlists and following artists). After clicking the “Agree” button, you should be back on the Stats for Spotify website – this time with three new buttons at the top of the screen. You can choose Top Tracks, Top Artists or Top Genres. Each section shows your stats for the last four weeks, the last six months, and your overall listening history.
The Top Tracks page shows up to 50 of your favorite songs, sorted from most popular to least popular. It shows the name of the song, the artist and the respective album cover. If you scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Create Playlist” a playlist will be automatically created with those tracks. Next, when you click “View Playlist”, you can start listening to the new playlist on Spotify immediately. The Top Artists page is very similar. It shows up to 50 of your most played artists in numerical order. There’s no playlist link here, but clicking on an artist will take you straight to their Spotify profile page. Finally, the Top Genres page shows a graph of your favorite music genres.
If you enjoy Stats for Spotify, the site will be updated with all of your Spotify activity so you can watch your style change and grow over time. However, if you no longer want the website to have access to your account, you can easily revoke their permissions. Click the “Account” button at the top of the Stats for Spotify website, click “Manage”, click “Data”, click “Delete Account”, and in the pop-up window, click “Delete Account” again “. Just like that, your stats for Spotify Account will be deleted.
