The Brazilian superstar has had numerous successes off the court with trophies in Brazil, Spain and Grande Nation.

And Neymar has specifically spoken out about his love of poker and plans to turn pro as soon as he hangs up his football boots.
He has taken on a new role as a cultural ambassador for PokerStars after joining the team in 2020.
The 30-year-old said: “It’s true that I intend to turn pro. I’m very comfortable playing poker myself and think I’ll be in a position to play in big tournaments after I quit playing soccer.
“I started playing during the 2014 World Cup and fell in love with the game.
“I play poker angrily myself. My favorite hands are a pair of tens – after my shirt number – and jack-five.
“There are similarities between leather and poker in the mode and manner in which you lecture your game and your opponent and decide when to ambush.
“I played it a lot myself because I was with Barcelona and we play a lot with PSG.
“I make it difficult for my opponents to lecture even though I play too many hands.

Neymar is PokerStars’ cultural ambassador
“When I first got a dog, I named him ‘poker’ because I love the game so much.
“Anytime I sit down to play, whether it’s with friends, online or in a tournament, I want to create an advantage.”
Neymar has had lessons alongside leading Brazilian poker pros Andre Akkari and Rafa Moraes.
The striker has twice won the national treble alongside PSG in 2018 and 2020.
Speaking of his new role with PokerStars, he said, “Poker is so much more than just the game, it’s a network and a culture and I love that about it.
“I’m excited to start this next chapter with PokerStars and we’re already working together in a queue of key areas.”
