2022 ‘Let’s Walk Seoul’ Festival / Reporter Joo Wan-joong
The ‘2023 Seoul Walking Festival’, the representative downtown walking festival in Korea, will be held on the 17th of next month.
The total length of the course is about 6 km. Departing from Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), it arrives at Gwanghwamun Square via DDP, Heunginjimun, Yulgok Tunnel, and Cheongwa-daero.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will begin recruiting 5,000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:00 am today (28th). ‘Let’s walk Seoul’ homepage (http://walkseoul.com), anyone can apply without having to register as a member. Participation fee is free.
This year, the festival will be held together with ‘Wrist Doctor 9988’, a health management project in Seoul using smart watches. Wrist Doctor 9988 users who want to participate in ‘Let’s Walk Seoul’ must apply on the Wrist Doctor website after applying for ‘Let’s Walk Seoul’. Once the application is complete, wear a watch linked with the Wrist Doctor 9988 app and visit the festival site.
On the official website of Let’s Walk Seoul, pre-events such as ‘festival slogan contest’ and ‘Let’s walk Seoul 4-line poem challenge’ are also held.
Yoon Jong-jang, head of the Seoul City Transportation Office, said, “As it is a day during the year when the city roads are open, you will be able to have a special experience walking around the main attractions in the city center.” We ask for a lot of interest and participation from citizens in the ‘Let’s Walk in Seoul Festival’.”
