After the completed EC qualifiers, 21 out of 24 places are reserved for this summer’s European Championships in Germany.
The host nation is one of six top seeded nations along with Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium and England.
A potential group of fate could feature one of those teams along with second-seeded Denmark, third-seeded Netherlands and fourth-seeded Italy.
Facts | The entire seeding
Pot 1: Germany, Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium and England.
Pot 2: Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Denmark, Albania and Austria.
Pot 3: Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Czech Republic.

Who gets the three remaining places in the EC will be decided in March next year. Then twelve countries – including Finland – play a playoff for the three EC tickets.
If Finland were to make it to the EC, they would end up in the fourth seeding pot and then they could end up in an almost impossible group together with the above-mentioned giants, excluding Italy.
In a paper “simple” group, Finland could be joined by, for example, Albania, familiar qualifying opponent Slovenia and then one of the big favorites from the first seeding pot.
The draw for the European Championship finals will be held in Hamburg on December 2. The draw for this spring’s EC qualifying playoff takes place on Thursday.
