For China, this is the 11th time they have become overall champions of the Asian Games.
The Bamboo Curtain Country’s domination of sporting events in Asian countries began with the 1982 edition in New Delhi, India.
Interestingly, since it was first held in 1951, only two countries have become overall champions of the Asian Games, namely Japan and China.
Japan has always been the overall champion from 1951 to 1978, until finally their dominance was stopped by China, which has appeared strong until now.
Meanwhile, Indonesia is in 13th place in the 2022 Asian Games medal standings with seven gold, 11 silver and 18 bronze.
Indonesia is one point above Malaysia, which collected six gold, eight silver and 18 bronze medals.

However, when looking at Indonesia’s achievements in 2014 (Incheon) and 2010 (Guangzhou), the medal haul in this edition is still better.
Meanwhile, the closing ceremony for the 2022 Asian Games, which was postponed one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be held tonight.
