Max Verstappen take pole position series Formula 1 GP Styria 2021. The Dutch racer managed to outperform the Mercedes duo, Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton.
In the qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring, Saturday (26/6/2021), Verstappen recorded the best time of 1 minute 3.841 seconds. He was 0.194 seconds ahead of Bottas who became the second fastest.
Even so, Bottas will start in fifth position, following a 3 position down penalty for an action deemed dangerous due to experiencing a spin in the pitlane during Friday’s free practice session.
Hamilton will replace Bottas after a time of 1 minute 4.067 seconds. Lando Norris of McLaren managed to penetrate the top four and will start on the third grid after posting a time of 1 minute 4.120 seconds.
Sergio Perez is fifth and will start on grid four with 1 minute 4.168 seconds, followed by Pierre Gasly (1 minute 4.236 seconds) and Charles Leclerc (1 minute 4.472 seconds) in positions six and seven.
Completing the top 10 are Yuki Tsunoda (Alphatauri), Fernando Alonso (Alpine), and Lance Stroll (Aston Martin). Sebastian Vettel is in 14th place, while Carlos Sainz of Ferrari will start the race in 12th, behind George Russell, who finished 11th with Williams.
The 2021 Styria GP F1 race will be held on Sunday (27/6) at 20.00 WIB.
