2021 continues with surprises in the Dacia range

The year 2021 brings many novelties in the Dacia range. In addition to the launch of the new Logan and Sandero models and the already confirmed launch of the first electric model, Spring, the end of the year will mark the presentation of a new vehicle that will replace both the Logan MCV station wagon and the Lodgy minivan.

The pace with which Dacia renews its product range is unprecedented in the history of the brand. This year, the Logan and Sandero models have already arrived on the market, including the Stepway version, and in just a few days, the brand’s first electric model, Spring, will go on sale. First in the version dedicated to legal entities and designed for use in fleets and, in autumn, in the one related to individual customers, Spring is, without a doubt, the most important novelty that will appear in the range of the Romanian manufacturer owned by the French group Renault.

However, near the end of the year, an interesting surprise seems ready to delight Dacia fans. According to the French press, the crossover that replaces both the Logan MCV station wagon and the Lodgy minivan will be revealed to the public without going on sale. This step is ready for the spring of 2022, also when Dacia cars will display the new logo, the one that mirrors the letters D and C.

A Dacia vehicle with seven seats

Given that the future Dacia model will be able to accommodate seven people seated on three rows of seats, the crossover that will be presented in the fall takes over some of the strengths of Lodgy, a model that went out of production, but also those of the Logan station wagon MCV which was also abandoned.

Although not much is known about the future model, French journalists write that apart from the rear that will look like an SUV and an increased ground guard, the car will follow exactly the details already existing on the new Logan and Sandero.

As the platform will be the same simplified CMF-B used in the case of Logan and Sandero, it is expected that the range of engines will be taken from these models. With minor modifications. First of all, since we are talking about a model with relatively large dimensions, it will not be equipped with the SCe 65 engine, considered much too small. Instead, it could include a four-cylinder engine, 1.3 TCe, to which a hybrid system will be attached.

If the sources of the French journalists are not mistaken, we will soon be able to see the first Dacia model with hybrid propulsion system. Moreover, in addition to the 1.3 E-Tech engine, the seven-seater Dacia crossover could also receive a 1.6 E-Tech that develops 140 hp. It is not yet clear whether these hybrid systems will be included in the car from launch or will be added later.

A new model, a new logo

And, if the above news does not seem enough, 2022 will bring the new logo – already revealed with the presentation of the Renaulution plan and the Bigster concept – consisting of the letters D and C.

In an interview with Argus magazine, the head of the Dacia brand, Denis Le Vot, stated that “although its position does not change, the brand is evolving. Dacia will remain Dacia. If 10 years ago more than half of our customers came from the second-hand world, today they represent only a third. We attract customers from all areas. Probably because cars are becoming more expensive due to technological additions. We want to make the brand more “cool” than it is with “outdoor” values. The new logo will not arrive on a future vehicle until next year “.

With the appearance of the new logo, progressively, on all models of the Romanian brand, and with the first Dacia car with hybrid engine, a change in the ambiance of the showrooms will be visible. That’s because they will also display the new logo as well as the color green instead of blue.
