2020 Olympic Games: Kruse and Hummels on Olympic list! – Soccer

Stefan Kuntz (57) names his candidates for the Olympics!

For the 2020 Summer Games, the U21 national coach has now compiled a list for the National Anti-Doping Agency Nada. There are around 50 professionals on it – including the ex-international players Max Kruse and Sandro Wagner as well as Maximilian Arnold, Davie Selke and Maximilian Eggestein.

And: World champions Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller are also still an option and have been called the Nada: both continue to belong to the test team of the senior team.

The players on the list are now available to the anti-doping agency for unannounced doping controls.

In a DFB interview, Kuntz said: “Of course we discussed internally and externally that we nominate players from as many different clubs as possible so that no club is extremely disadvantaged. The date for the Olympics this year is not that disruptive for the preparation. ”The summer games are going to increase from July 24th to August 9th in Tokyo.

Kuntz also makes it clear: No player will take part in both tournaments (Olympia and EM) in summer.

He may nominate for Olympic players born after January 1st, 1997. But three actors can also be older.

“I can understand that, because football fans expect these to be the most prominent names in our squad,” said Kuntz. “But the three older players will be our last piece of the puzzle. After the season, we first look at which players and positions we can fill with the current U21 squad and the 97 year. ”

The final nomination will take place in June. A total of 16 field players and two goalkeepers may be nominated.
