BARCELONA – Petronas Yamaha SRT Team racer, Franco Morbidelli won the 2020 Catalunya MotoGP pole position after being able to be the fastest in the qualifying session which took place on Saturday (26/9/2020) evening WIB. Pole Position is also very special for Morbidelli, of course.
Because for the first time since joining the MotoGP class in 2018, Morbidelli has also won pole position in a series of races. That is what makes the 2020 Catalunya MotoGP qualification results very special for the Italian rider.
Following in Morbidelli’s footsteps, Fabio Quartararo managed to become the second fastest rider in the 2020 Catalunya MotoGP qualification. The racer who is also part of the Petronas Yamaha SRT was able to prove that the YZR-M1 motorbike was the best at the Catalunya Circuit, Spain.

Yes, Yamaha really shows that its motorbike is very good when driving at the Catalunya Circuit. Because besides Morbidelli and Quartararo, there is one more Yamaha racer who occupies the three front rows for the race later, Sunday, September 27 2020.
The racer who occupies the third position is Valentino Rossi. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider superbly closed the 2020 Catalunya MotoGP preparation very well. With these facts, Yamaha really controls the first line for the Catalunya GP race.
So what about another Yamaha rider, namely Maverick Vinales? Vinales, who appeared fastest in the fourth free practice session, was a bit sluggish in qualifying.
It was noted that Vinales could only be the fifth fastest racer in the qualifying session. Vinales is still losing quickly to Jack Miller (Pramac Ducati), who is perched in fourth position as a result of the qualifying session.
