The national team players splashed water and jumped up, unable to hide their joy.
Soon after, they joined hands and ran to the edge of the ground to slide as a group towards the stands, sharing the joy of advancing to the round of 16 with the cheering squad that flew all the way to Doha, Qatar.
As if this ceremony were unfamiliar, Lee Kang-in, born in 2001, the youngest member of the national team, performed a solo front roll.
The 2002 World Cup team slip ceremony was recreated in Doha after 20 years.
Coincidentally, even then, the opponent was Portugal, who were considered the favorites at the time.
After defeating Portugal and confirming progress to the round of 16, the 2002 World Cup squad thanked the fans in a flowing ceremony.

Since then, this sliding group has become a symbol of victory for the national team, which rushed to the round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals.
