More than 20,000 volunteers from 53 countries have already entered the war with Russian troops invading Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba said.
“The whole world is on Ukraine’s side today, not only in words but also in deeds,” Kuleba told television on Sunday night.
He did not reveal which countries the volunteers were from, noting that some of those countries had banned their citizens from fighting abroad.
The office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensk announced on February 26 that an International Territorial Defense Battalion is being formed in Ukraine, which will include foreigners who want to support Ukraine in the war with the invading Russian troops.
