Police reported the incident just after midnight on Saturday, after receiving several messages from neighbors who had disturbed the neighbor. Operations Manager Kathrine Sylju in the Oslo police district confirms to TV 2 that there is a party atmosphere in the capital.
– Now the city has come to life, it’s quite clear. We had quite a few people in that park yesterday as well, but there are far more today, approximately 2000.
She emphasizes that this is a large park, and that the party-loving people are scattered around. The patrol on the spot reports that there is a good atmosphere in the park, and there should be no talk of any fights or the like.
– There are complaints about loud music, so now we ask them to turn off the facilities. It worked fine yesterday, and hopefully it will work tonight as well, says Sylju.
She says the police have received more and more noise-related complaints after the restrictions in Oslo were eased and the taps reopened.
– I definitely notice an increase in it. We received a number of complaints from private addresses when there was no serving, but then the messages were mostly about concerns about the number of attendees exceeding the limit on the number of guests. Now it is allowed to have a little more guests, and it is perhaps natural to have a little more parties as well, says Sylju.
Despite the fact that the restrictions have now been eased in the capital, she asks the citizens of Oslo to keep in mind that the pandemic is still not over.
– As I said before, it is better to be outside than inside, but you still have to remember to pay attention and of course keep your distance from each other, the operations manager concludes.
