Tuesday evening, 2,000 passengers were evacuated in emergency on line 8 of the Paris metro because of a chase. Traveler incident, we know… But chase?!
Because we are used to waiting for a regulation or a traveler’s discomfort, to learn that your Metro is stopped because of a chase, it’s quite funny. Tuesday evening, four oars in which were 2,000 travelers have been urgently evacuated on the tracks of line 8, near the Créteil-l’Échat, Les Juilliottes, Maisons-Alfort-Stade, and École-Vétérinaire (Val-de-Marne) stations, reports The Parisian. Fortunately, everything went smoothly and peacefully.
The chase began in a car at Charenton-le-Pont, after a driver and his passenger refused to submit to a roadside check. While fleeing, the two fugitives rammed a car in which were a couple and their baby, before running into the metro station. No one was hurt. One of the two men was arrested, but the driver continued on his way on the tracks towards Créteil. The latter has not yet been found.
