200 trees felled without a felling permit for padel fields Niels Destadsbader in Berlaar

“Hallucinous,” says municipal councilor Brend Van Ransbeeck (Green). “Apparently this is the new way of doing things here in Berlaar, cutting trees without a permit and making fun of the rules. It is not because a well-known Fleming wants to make investments on Berlaar’s territory, that we as a municipality suddenly have to drop all the rules. The college of aldermen (CD&V and N-VA) often turns a blind eye to permits, rightly to the great annoyance of our people from Berlaar. We can no longer tolerate this and demand compensation for the nearly 200 poplars that have disappeared.”
