Pope Francis expressed his “deep sorrow” for the hundreds of thousands of victims of sexual abuse by priests in France.
As reported by the news agency AFP, Wednesday (6/10/2021), this was conveyed by Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni after the publication of reports of sexual abuse of hundreds of thousands of minors by priests over seven decades in French.
The Vatican spokesman added that the Pope was saddened to hear of the results of an independent investigation which found that 216,000 minors had been sexually abused in the seven decades since 1950 by criminals. French priest.
“His mind (Pope Francis) goes first to the victims, with deep sorrow for their wounds and gratitude for their courage to speak out,” Bruni said in a statement issued in Italian and French.
