200 more soldiers arrive in Sinaloa

Security in Sinaloa was reinforced with 400 elite soldiers in the last three days to maintain public order and peace among the population after the arrest of drug trafficker Ismael The May Zambada García, last July 25 in the United States.

Yesterday, the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) sent 200 more members of the Special Forces Corps and the Parachute Rifle Brigade of the Mexican Army to Culiacán, in addition to another 200 who were deployed last Friday in that municipality.

The reinforcement of the security operation comes after the lawyer of The MayFrank Perez said that his client was kidnaped by Joaquin Guzman Lopez, son of El Chapo Guzman, to refute claims that he was tricked into boarding a plane bound for the United States, where he was arrested on Thursday.

“My client did not surrender or negotiate any conditions with the U.S. government. Joaquín Guzmán López kidnapped him by force… He was ambushed. They tied his legs and placed a black bag over his head. Then they put him in a van and took him to a landing strip. There they forced him onto a plane, with his legs tied to the seat, and took him to the United States against his will,” Pérez told Los Angeles Times.

The 200 elite soldiers sent yesterday to Sinaloa have the mission to contribute to inhibiting the illicit activities of criminal groups with a presence in the aforementioned federal entity, as well as preserving and guaranteeing the freedom, order and public peace of the inhabitants of that region of the countryreported the Sedena.

They left yesterday from Air Base No. 1 in Santa Lucía, State of Mexico, and arrived at the Culiacán International Airport in two aircraft, one from the National Guard and the other from the Mexican Air Force.
