200 million CFA francs for the benefit of two schools in Mounana

Libreville, Thursday December 14, 2023 (Gabon News) – These funds from Comilog in partnership with the State are dedicated to the rehabilitation of two religious schools in this town of Haut-Ogooué.

The Sainte Barbe and Alliance Chrétienne primary schools in the commune of Mounana will soon have a new look. This is the meaning of the rehabilitation work recently launched by the Ogooué Mining Company (Comilog) in partnership with the Gabonese State. The overall financing cost is estimated at nearly 200 million CFA francs.

The comprehensive renovation plan for the said schools provides for a series of concrete improvements which include work on the roofs and ceilings, the tiling of the rooms, the upgrading of the electrical and plumbing system, a refresh of the paintwork as well as the construction and the rehabilitation of toilets and water fountains.

Through this initiative, which contributes considerably to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education, Comilog officials want to offer teachers and students in this locality the best working and study conditions.

Remember that between 2019 and 2023, the subsidiary of the French group Eramet, which aims to be a corporate citizen in Gabon, financed the rehabilitation of nearly 20 establishments in the province of Haut-Ogooué. They are distributed between the towns of Moanda, Bakoumba and Mounana, to the great satisfaction of Gabonese youth.

Carried out by four local SMEs, the rehabilitation work on these two schools, which concerns 16 classrooms, will be delivered in January 2024.
