This Friday morning, the largest naturalization ceremony to date was held at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.
200 immigrants from 46 countries naturalized as US citizens on Citizenship Day in New York.

The Secretary of National Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, presided over the ceremony.
In honor of Citizenship Day and Constitution Day, 21,000 new citizens will be welcomed in 335 ceremonies across the country through September 23.
“On this # Constitution Day and # Citizenship Day, we honor the role our Constitution plays in allowing new citizens to join and contribute to our country,” wrote a message on the Twitter account of the Department of Security National.
“We reflect on our nation’s long history of welcoming people from around the world and serving as a place of refuge,” it added.

President Biden also referred to Citizenship Day in a message on social media.
“Immigrants come to the United States from different circumstances, but each generation has made us stronger,” Biden said.
“This Citizenship Day serves as a reminder that it is up to us to ensure that we remain a country worthy of the dreams and aspirations of immigrants around the world,” he added.
