The father of the family went into the southern tower to help those trapped in the chaos of smoke and flames.
About 55 minutes after the plane hit, the tower collapsed. In New York it is 09:59 and the building has collapsed. Inside is 46-year-old Wallace.
– This was his first day back at work after an operation. He should actually have been on sick leave a little longer, but he refused, Jeanine told AP.
With tears in her eyes, she describes her father, who was torn away from her 20 years ago.

Died in an attempt to save lives
More than 340 firefighters in New York died in service on September 11, 2001. Survivor Joseph Dittmar will never forget the sight of rescue workers.
– I do not have words. Their facial expressions said it all, Dittmar told the news agency AFP.
He was on his way down from the thirtieth floor when he first saw the fire crews on their way up.
– They knew they would not return. Imagine being so brave. Imagine being so strong. It is incomprehensible.
An attack on the United States
Twenty years ago, four passenger planes were hijacked by terrorists. Two of them crashed into the World Trade Center. The first plane hit the north tower, and only 17 minutes later the south tower was hit. 2606 people were killed in the attack.
In a short time, two more planes crashed. One of them hit the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon. The fourth crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
