Thaliparambu: In the case of abducting and torturing a Plus One student, the accused has been sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Taliparam POCSO Fast Track Court Judge C. Mujeeb Rahman sentenced Kotachola Sanal Shaju (29) in the middle.
The case is that on June 13, 2015, he took the 16-year-old Plus One student on his bike and made her stay at a place called Elamperam. The next day, he took her to a tourist home in Nileswaram and tortured her continuously for four days. The punishment is 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 in both sections.
There is also a case against him for molesting another girl while out on bail in this case. Special Prosecutor Sherimol Jose appeared for the prosecution. Alakot CI was A.V. John investigated the case.
