A 20-year-old Tilburger died on Friday night on the N65 near Berkel-Enschot. According to a police spokesperson, the white BMW in which the victim was sitting “broke to pieces”.
The emergency services were alerted at around a quarter past five. What exactly happened is under investigation. But the car the victim was in had partially caught fire.
The victim, believed to be the driver of the car, was found under some of the debris. An attempt at resuscitation was to no avail.
Detour
The N65 from Tilburg to Den Bosch was closed for hours between Tilburg-Noord and the Oisterwijk exit. From the De Baars junction, traffic was directed to Den Bosch via Eindhoven, over the A58 and A2.
The main carriageway was reopened around a quarter to twelve Saturday morning.
To give evidence
Police are asking people who saw the white BMW driving or saw what went wrong to come forward.
