Scenes like those in a crime thriller took place on the Bahnhofstrasse in Döbeln on Thursday morning. Two police cars wedged a Renault Twingo with a Dresden license plate. A young woman – apparently the driver – was sitting on a wall with her hands cuffed behind her back. Meanwhile, officers searched the vehicle. Half an hour later the Twingo no longer had any license plates, apparently the police officers had secured them.
As the press office of the Chemnitz Police Department announced at the request of lvz.de, the police patrol wanted to stop the woman’s vehicle in Döbeln because of a general traffic control. However, the driver did not stop and tried to escape. A second police car arrested the woman in Bahnhofsstraße at Lidl.
So far it has also been established that the license plates on the Twingo were invalid and that the driver did not have a driver’s license. She was tested positive for amphetamines on a drug test. According to the police, the woman fled about ten kilometers from the police before the officers wedged her Twingo on Bahnhofstrasse. The car that the 20-year-old German drove was not registered and also not insured.
Falsified, unstamped license plates with re-glued stickers were also attached to the vehicle. For the Renault driver, a blood sample followed, as well as complaints of forgery of documents, endangering road traffic, prohibited motor vehicle races, driving without a driver’s license and violation of the compulsory insurance law.
