20 Thousand Second Vaccine Doses Arrive in Kudus

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUDUS — The Kudus District Health Office, Central Java, received an additional 20 thousand doses of the Covid-19 vaccine used for the second injection, following many people queuing for the second dose. “Our need for the second dose is 60,000 vaccines. So, as soon as there is an additional 20 thousand, it will be directly distributed to each health facility in Kudus,” said Head of the Kudus District Health Office, Badai Ismoyo in Kudus, Monday (26/7).

He hopes that there will be more because there are quite a lot of people queuing for the second dose of injection and it has entered the injection schedule and the vaccination target in Kudus, which has reached 664,666 targets, has not yet reached half. The additional vaccine was received on Friday (23/7) and immediately distributed to 36 health facilities, including hospitals, health centers and clinics.

Additional vaccines with the same type of vaccine will be focused on injecting the second dose. Meanwhile, the Director of the Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital, Ahmad Syaifuddin, admitted that the injection of the second dose of vaccine had been delayed by more than a week. But today (26/7), started serving injections for 500 people.

He admitted that the enthusiasm of the community to participate in vaccination was quite high, so that many residents who were not scheduled to come to be vaccinated immediately. For that, he hopes, the government can expedite the process of delivering vaccines to regions, following the high public interest. It also still has an injection schedule of 13 thousand people. But currently only 3,000 have been realized because it is related to the availability of the vaccine.
