The IRNA news agency reports that the girls at school began to have shortness of breath and medics were called. The girls were hospitalized and their condition is good.

Since November, more than 5,000 schoolgirls have suffered from suspected poisoning. The girls became sick, began to have shortness of breath and had other symptoms, they lost consciousness.

Suspicious cases were found in approximately 230 schools. Poisonous gas was probably used, as unpleasant odors were also felt in the schools.

In early March, Iran announced that more than 100 people believed to be linked to hostile groups had been detained in connection with the alleged poisonings.

The suspicious incidents at the schools began two months after Iran was gripped by widespread protests over the death of Mahsa Amini at a morality police station. One government official suggested in March that this could be an attempt to force the closure of girls’ schools.
