The telecommunications operator UPC plans to cut about 10% of its workforce, currently made up of 1600 employees, as part of efforts to lighten and digitize its business model.
The Zurich group ensures in a position Friday trying to minimize the number of layoffs, but does not rule out having to resolve it. UPC also specifies that this restructuring was under consideration even before the failure at the end of last year of the merger with Sunrise.
A negotiated social plan with the social partners will be made available to dismissed employees.
