The largest 100 parcel customers are not allowed to send as many parcels as before until Easter. Online retailers such as Galaxus, Digitec and Zalando are affected. For each supplier, Swiss Post has made a confidential agreement on how many parcels can be sent until Easter, as it is said on request. This agreement is dependent on the quantity of deliveries and how much it has increased.
Post must find a quick solution
The Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication (Uvek) has granted Swiss Post temporary quotas. According to Uvek, Swiss Post is to find quick solutions to deal with the flood of parcels at a round table with mail order partners, competitors and social partners. So that after Easter all packages can be delivered again.
“We are aware of the great responsibility and that is why we are committed to rapid solutions,” said post media spokesman Oliver Flüeler.
